Island House Hotel Front Desk Agent Job Description

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for checking guests in and out of the Hotel.
  • Issues room keys, pamphlets, discount cards, etc.
  • Works in conjunction with the bellhop to assist guests.
  • Answers various questions from guests.
  • Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Basic reading and math skills.
  • Knowledge of using an adding machine and cash register.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions
  • Must be able to type 30+ wpm.
  • Must be able to maintain a professional manner under stress.
  • Must be able to answer questions concerning the Hotel and the Island.
  • Must present a personable, helpful, and professional image. 

Additional Information

  • Reports to the General Manager and Front Desk Manager.
Uniform Requirements

Provided: short sleeve dress shirt, long sleeve dress shirt or cardigan

Bring with You:

        • Solid navy dress pants
        • Solid navy or brown closed-toe dress shoes with non-skid soles.
          • No boots, ballet flats, or athletic shoes. No visible logos. No color variations.
        • Solid navy socks

Required Dress Code Details

        • Clothing must be the appropriate size (not tight, baggy, or ill-fitting).
        • Clothing may not be ripped, torn, or frayed, whether naturally worn or added for decorative purposes.
        • Pants must stay up on the waist and support themselves without falling. 
        • No yoga or cargo-style pants.
        • Stitching or any other decoration must match the color of the pants.
        • Pant legs may not be rolled up.
