Innkeeper Job Description

As the Resident Innkeeper at Pine Cottage Bed & Breakfast, you will ensure our guests a delightful and memorable experience throughout their stay while managing our property. This role is ideally suited for a couple.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

Serve as the primary caretaker and host.
Maintain the property’s essential functions and oversee the house at all times.
Communicate with maintenance and housekeeping staff
Maintain a friendly and accommodating attitude towards guests.
Assist guests with inquiries about the property, their stay, and local attractions.
Provide concierge services, including dining and entertainment recommendations and reservations.
Coordinate daily tea and cookie hour.
Prepare and serve a continental breakfast each morning.
Handle breakfast inventory.
Fulfill special guest requests.
Manage essential documentation for guests’ stays.
Ensure rooms are prepared before guest arrivals.
Process guest check-ins, payments, and check-outs.
Accurately manage daily financial transactions.
Attend weekly/monthly meetings

Requirements

Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Programs and general computer literacy

Preferences

Must adhere to a presentable dress code
Knowledge of Mackinac Island

Special Position Requirements

Must be available overnight and for multiple days in succession.
