Night Auditor Job Description

The Night Auditor will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of daily reports for the hotel and restaurants. This full-time position is available from May through October and includes benefits such as a private one-bedroom apartment on Mackinac Island and eligibility for a 401k plan.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run and balance daily reports for the hotel and restaurants
  • Efficiently post and balance charges.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Basic knowledge of accounting operations.
  • Proficiency in using computer software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
  • Accurate posting and balancing of charges.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor under stress.
  • Ability to answer questions about the Hotel and Mackinac Island.

Additional Information:

  • Compensation: $20.00 per hour with an average of 48 to 50 hours per week (8 to 10 hours of overtime).
  • Housing: We provide a private one-bedroom apartment for our Night Auditor on Mackinac Island for $95.00 per week.
  • Benefits: 401k eligibility after meeting term requirements.
  • Uniform: Business casual attire.
  • Reports to General Manager.
Uniform Requirements

Provided: Short sleeve dress shirt, long sleeve dress shirt or cardigan, fleece quarter zip

Bring with You:

    • Solid navy dress pants and/or shorts
    • Solid navy or brown closed-toe dress shoes with non-skid soles.
      • No boots, ballet flats, or athletic shoes.
      • No visible logos. No color variations.
    • Solid navy socks

Required Dress Code Details

    • Clothing must be the appropriate size (not tight, baggy, or ill-fitting).
    • Clothing may not be ripped, torn, or frayed, whether naturally worn or added for decorative purposes.
    • Pants must stay up on the waist and support themselves without falling. 
    • No yoga or cargo-style pants.
    • Stitching or any other decoration must match the color of the pants.
    • Pant legs may not be rolled up.
    • Shorts must be no more than two inches above the top of the knee.
